About Healthy Blood

A small publishing project covering one narrow subject: what the research on blood pressure actually establishes, and how far the marketing built on top of it travels beyond that.

Why this website exists

Blood pressure is the most heavily marketed-to condition in adult health, and it is a field where bad advertising can do real harm. Pages circulate that put invented quotes in the mouths of real physicians and celebrities, that describe medication as a placebo, and that push readers toward stopping treatment. Uncontrolled hypertension causes strokes. Healthy Blood exists to separate the mechanism from the marketing — what the research shows, and where the copy outruns it.

We are a consumer information website. We do not manufacture or sell any product, we are not a clinic, and nobody here practises medicine. Nothing we publish is a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a reason to change what your doctor has prescribed.

The product category we cover

Our coverage focuses on blood pressure and cardiovascular health — arterial stiffness, dietary patterns with trial evidence behind them, home monitoring, and the supplements and presentations marketed to people whose numbers will not settle.

This is a category where the cost of overselling is measured in strokes, not refunds. So we state plainly that antihypertensive medication works, that lowering blood pressure prevents cardiovascular events, and that no diet, supplement or ritual has been shown to dissolve established arterial plaque. Where we describe a study we say what population it covered and what it did not establish. And we never tell a reader to stop their treatment.

Our editorial approach

Claims we will not make

No invented statistics, no fabricated testimonials, no countdown timers and no manufactured scarcity. Above all, we never attribute a statement to a real person who did not make it — not a doctor, not a public figure, not a patient. Pages that do are common in this category and we will not publish one.

How we frame products

Featured products are described in terms of what they are designed to do, with the caveats attached. We use words like “may” and “varies” where those are the honest words, even when a stronger one would convert better.

Advertising, disclosed up front

Our homepage article is a paid advertorial and is labelled as one at the very top of the page, above the header, before any content. Nothing about that arrangement is buried in a footnote.

Corrections

If something we publish is inaccurate or has gone out of date, write to us and we will review it. Guidelines and research move; we would rather fix a page than defend it.

Transparency about commercial relationships

Healthy Blood is a commercially supported website. The homepage article is sponsored content, and the links to the featured product are affiliate links. If a reader goes on to use or purchase something after following one of those links, this website may receive compensation from the advertiser or its affiliate network.

That compensation does not add anything to the price a reader pays, and it does not buy a guarantee of positive coverage — the caveats above sit on the same page as the promotion. Full details are set out in our Advertising Disclaimer.

Who we write for

Our audience is general-interest: adults, mostly over fifty, managing blood pressure and often frustrated by it. Content is written in US English and reflects US consumer-privacy expectations, including the rights described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not provide medical, legal or financial advice of any kind, and nothing on this website should be treated as such. Never stop or change a blood-pressure medication on the strength of anything you read here or anywhere else online. Seek urgent help for a reading at or above 180/120 with chest pain, breathlessness, one-sided weakness, difficulty speaking or vision changes.
